Complete a 3 page essay that describes your personal approach to counseling. In reviewing the various approaches to psychotherapy, you will compare your own thinking on the underlying issues with the positions of the various therapies to assist you in developing a frame of reference for your personal style of counseling. Make sure that you support your personal approach to counseling with previous theories, logic, and/or research covered throughout this course. Ch. 15 can help you develop a framework for developing your personal approach to counseling. In addition, some of the questions (not required, only guidelines) you can apply to develop your own theory of counseling are:
Are you drawn to a particular theory because it fits your own worldview, experiences, and value system? Does your theory provide you with confirmation of your views, or does it challenge you to think about new dimensions of personality development?
What are some unique features of each of the theories presented? What is the central focus of each theory What are the significant contributions?
What aspects of each theory are most useful to you? Why?
If you had to select one theory that comes closest to your thinking, which theory would this be? What is your theory of choice? Explain.
Does your theory of choice account for differences in culture, gender, race, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status?
To what degree does your acceptance or rejection of a particular theory indicate your own biases?
Which theories (or aspects of theories) can be combined to give a broader, deeper, and more useful way of explaining personality development?
Which assessment methods from each theory are you most in agreement?
Which theories changed your feelings, interest or values related to personality development?
What are the research outcomes of each theory?
This paper must be submitted in an essay format. Under no circumstances should you restate and answer the questions to submit for your paper. Your score in this section will be based on the ability to integrate your personal approach to counseling and support it with your personal experiences that you feel comfortable sharing. For example, perhaps you experienced a traumatic event in your life that has lead you to adopt a person-centered approach to counseling. Or maybe you experienced disclosing to your family that you identify as LGBTQ (etc…) which supports your adoption of a Gestalt, Humanistic and person-centered approach to counseling. Points will be deducted for unsupported statements or simply regurgitating what the textbook states about the theories and counseling approaches covered in this course. Your essay must be 3 FULL pages in length, typed, double-spaced and in 12-point Times New Roman, Arial or Calibri font with 1-inch margins on all sides. Headings at the top of a paper that create extra spacing do not count toward the page requirements. Extra spacing between paragraphs is also not permitted. 3 points per page will be deducted for not meeting the page and formatting requirements. For example, if your complete 2.5 pages, 1.5 points will automatically be deducted. Moreover, your paper must reflect university writing skills included spelling and grammar.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I get my paper done?

It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.

Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.

We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.

Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?

All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.

What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?

Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!

Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?

We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.

I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?

Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.

I got my order information wrong, can I change that?

Yes you can. Just reach out to our support team via email (support@essaynook.com) or live chat here and they’ll help you change the instructions.

Can I place an order via email instead of going through the order page?

Yes you can. Email Anna at anna@essaynook.com, she’s in charge of our sales team. Alternatively, you can talk to our Live Chat team here and request to speak to Anna.
