Each schoolcounseling candidate will write a Student Career Assessment Paper which will
summarize your experiences with a middle or high schoolstudent. The purpose of this project is for school
counselor candidates to apply college/career assessments, career development theories, and CCR
curriculum planning with a student. Candidates will reflect on this experience to make plans for improving
their CCR counseling work.To acquire this knowledge and understanding, the project and narrative will be
comprised of four sections. In your paper, use headers and sub-headers to keep your paper organized.
The headers should use the following 4-prong structure:1.Resources:
a)Review the following websites:
i)http://www.collegeboard.org/
ii)http://www.act.org/profile
iii)http://www.careeronestop.org/StudentsandCareerAdvisors/StudentsandCareer
Advisors.aspx
iv)http://flchoices.org
v)http://www.financialaidtoolkit.ed.gov/tk/resources.jsp
b)Write about your findings of the websites and how you can use them in your work as
a schoolcounselor:
i)What was helpfuland/or difficult to understand and/or locate;
ii)How you could use each website in your work with students. Consider implementing information
from these websites in individualcounseling, small group counseling, classroom
lessons/activities, parent workshops, or other counseling-related activities.2.Assessment: Prior to
writing this section you need to meet with a 6th-12th grade student to administer at least two college or
career assessments. Keep in mind that you may need to meet with the student more than once, once to
describe how to take the assessment and once to go over the results. You should choose two assessments
from one or more of the above websites. Make sure you choose a developmentally-appropriate
assessment that the student will understand. After the student completes the assessment, process the
results with him/her. Talking points should include: (1) does the student agree with the results; (2) process
their interest areas, values, or skills highlighted in the assessments; (3) discuss how the results relate to
their schoolwork (e.g., if a career highlighted was being a physician, do they enjoy science and are they
good at it?); (4) discuss potentialcareer and postsecondary plans. Make sure you thoroughly read Ch. 4 of
the Curry text prior to completing the assessment meeting(s). In your write-up, focus on:
i)Describe the student (use a pseudonym). Include grade level, general family background, and
generalacademic history if possible (this is not required but will help you understand the student’s
background; for example, is she anA/B student, has she been retained, is she in ESE/ELL, does
she have any behavioralconcerns,etc.).
ii)List the assessments used with the student and reflect on how the administration of the assessment
was accomplished. Do you think you effectively explained how to take the online assessment?
iii)Reflect on your experience with processing the assessment results with the student. Highlight at
least the 4 the talking points above and discuss what you did welland what you plan to do more
effectively next time.3.Theory: Use one (or more if applicable) of the theories you learned about, and
assess the career development of the student. Identify which theory you used and describe how this
theory applies to the student.4.Planning:As a way to identify appropriate activities for promoting student’s
college readiness, describe recommendations for future activities that would facilitate this student’s
progression in schooland become college and career ready. Your activities need to be relevant to this
particular student so you will want to describe the activity and the rationale for how these activities
correlate to your student’s interest, skills, aptitudes, values.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I get my paper done?

It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.

Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.

We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.

Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?

All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.

What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?

Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!

Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?

We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.

I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?

Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.

I got my order information wrong, can I change that?

Yes you can. Just reach out to our support team via email (support@essaynook.com) or live chat here and they’ll help you change the instructions.

Can I place an order via email instead of going through the order page?

Yes you can. Email Anna at anna@essaynook.com, she’s in charge of our sales team. Alternatively, you can talk to our Live Chat team here and request to speak to Anna.
