For your next project, you will write a Persuasive Digital Text There are links to example Web texts in your prompt/assignment sheet, that you may want to explore before completing this assignment.
Here, you’ll write at least 300 words to give me a sense of what you plan to do for your web text. In particular, your proposal should provide detailed and thorough information on the following:
Genre: Briefly state the type of digital text you will be creating (i.e. op ed; blog; digital letter to the editor; YouTube video; Power-Point presentation; prezi; other). Provide a link to the example that you will be following (this should be the example that you analyzed in Week #5 | Exploring Genre (Assignment)).
Audience: To describe your audience you will need to provide details for each of the following prompts. Note – if you are targeting a narrow and specific audience (i.e. students at FIU) you might need to make educated guesses about the following details. If you are targeting a broad audience (i.e. parents) you will need to make decisions about the following details in order to clarify which members of that group (i.e. which parents) you want to talk to:
Who will you be talking to? Identify ONE group (do not use “and”) Be as narrow and specific as possible.
Describe at least one relevant demographic detail (age, gender, income level, education level);
Describe their knowledge about your topic (are you targeting people that know a lot or who know very little?) provide details about this knowledge (i.e. what aspect of your argument will you need to explain or not):
Describe their relevant values and beliefs (Why aren’t they already doing/thinking what you want them to? What is it about their ideas that will make them resist your argument?)
Purpose. What specifically will you be asking your audience to do or think? Are you trying to persuade your audience to change their behavior? Take action? What do you hope to accomplish with your digital text? How will this change positively impact the issue that concerns you?
For a refresher on analyzing your own rhetorical situation, see EAA Chapter 2.
Thesis: State the working thesis that you will assert in the final web text and write a paragraph in which you explain why this will be the thesis you’ve decided on. Your thesis should be an arguable claim that others can logically have different perspectives on. It should also engage your readers’ interest – you may want to try and surprise your audience with something new or challenging.
For more information about thesis statements, see EAA pages 303-307.
Style and Design: Discuss your initial thoughts about how you will design your web text: This includes visuals, writing style, and document design. Since you are writing in the genre of a web text, this means there must be some visual elements to accompany the text. What photos, illustrations, charts, or other visual elements will you include? How will you design the page? You’ll also want to write in a voice and style most appropriate for your chosen audience. What will that be?
For more information about multimodal design considerations, see EAA Chapters 29-30. EAA Chapter 25 provides advice about writing style.
Note: if you choose to refer to sources in your explanation, be sure to cite appropriately.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I get my paper done?

It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.

Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.

We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.

Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?

All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.

What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?

Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!

Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?

We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.

I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?

Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.

I got my order information wrong, can I change that?

Yes you can. Just reach out to our support team via email ( or live chat here and they’ll help you change the instructions.

Can I place an order via email instead of going through the order page?

Yes you can. Email Anna at, she’s in charge of our sales team. Alternatively, you can talk to our Live Chat team here and request to speak to Anna.
